ABOUT US

Operation Oceanica is a small group of people that have a passion for conserving what little natural places on earth that remain. Over this planet there are very places that have not been completely domesticated by humanactivities, one such place is our Oceans.

There is Rob Lee, he has a passion for everything living. This can often bore the hell out of all people around him when, he goes off on long tangents about the imporance of different species of grass.

Whilst completing an BSc (Hons) at the University of Sussex he spent a summer volunteering for the Atlantic Whale Foundation where he realised his love for the marine environment. Currently he is working towards a PhD in cetacean behaviour whist co-ordinating volunteers at the Atlantic Whale Foundation.

The other half of Operation Oceanica is Lauren Hartny-Mills. She provides not only an obsesive thirst for knowledge of living organisms in the marine envirionment but a much needed glamorous side.

Lauren has been a co-ordinator at the Atlantic Whale Foundation since 2005. Here it has been realised that she has unrivalled organisation skill, especially it's importance in all scientific studies. Lauren is now applying these skills towards a PhD in the social interactions between short-finned pilot whales.

ABOUT US

Operation oceanica consists of a group of people with different educational backgrounds but with a shared enthusiasm for conserving nature.

We don't intend on just sticking with this website. We have many plans for the future, so watch this space....

We are currently in the process of starting a sea based volunteer program, but in the mean click for another marine conservation organisation.

We have many petitions to sign for many different causes. The more people that sign them the more of a voice we have
